Today was THE DAY. The day my sister and I have been waiting on for a few months now. It did not go as smoothly as we had hoped, but we had a ton of fun cooking together.
We came up with the idea to cook every recipe in our family cookbook and put each episode on Youtube. Neither of us know much at all about any of this technology stuff, but you need to get out of your comfort zone every now and then so here we are....way out of our comfort zone and learning more than we ever imagined already. To give you an idea of how wild this experience was today, I'm going to give you a behind the scenes report.
First, we thought the GoPro camera was recording. My husband had set up a ladder and propped it on there so we could get just the right angle and we set up my phone on the counter so we would have a backup. Well, after we finished the video, we realized the GoPro was not recording after all, so all we had was the video from my camera. When I tried to upload the video to iMovie on my laptop, it kept failing and refused to cooperate, so I had to try and edit on my phone. Then, I had all kinds of issues with Youtube and my Google account. I'm still trying to figure out how I can edit my video and put in a link to the recipe and some hashtags. I am going to attempt to add a link to the recipe to this post. Wish me luck guys!
Despite all of the craziness and chaos, we had a really good time cooking together today. We haven't done anything this fun in a long time. Next week, we will be making Brenda Self's Baked Beans recipe and hopefully she will be our special guest with lots of family stories and cooking tips to share with us. Here is the video from today's episode. Be sure to check out the video posted below on my Instagram feed and subscribe to our channel!
